long lasting battery, easy set up

I've been using this eufy security camera system and overall I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. The setup was straightforward - took me maybe 30 minutes to get both cameras connected and positioned around my property.The 2K video quality is definitely a step up from my old system. During the day, the footage is crisp and clear, and I can easily make out faces and license plates. The night vision works well too, though it's not quite as sharp as the daytime recording. The solar panels are a nice touch - I haven't had to worry about charging the cameras since installation, even during a few cloudy weeks we had.What I really appreciate is the local storage feature. No monthly fees is a huge plus, and I like that my footage isn't being uploaded to some server somewhere. I did end up upgrading to the HomeBase 3 for the AI features and additional storage capacity, which has been worth it for the smarter detection and extra space. The app is user-friendly and I get notifications pretty quickly when motion is detected.A few minor complaints: the motion detection can be a bit sensitive at times (hello, neighborhood cats), and the cameras are a bit bulkier than I expected. Also, while the solar charging works great most of the time, I did notice the battery dropped during a particularly rainy stretch in winter.The price point felt reasonable for what you get - two cameras, the base station, and no ongoing costs. Installation was simple enough that I didn't need to hire anyone. Would recommend if you're looking for a solid wireless security setup without the subscription hassle.

I’ve been using the Eufy SoloCam E40 for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with it. Setup was super easy—just scanned the QR code in the app and it connected right away. No base station needed, which I appreciated.The video quality is excellent. It records in 2K, and the image is sharp and clear during the day. What really surprised me was the night vision—it’s in color and way better than the usual black-and-white footage I’ve seen with other cameras.One of the main reasons I chose this model was the local storage. It saves clips right to the built-in memory, so there’s no need for a subscription. That alone makes it worth it for me.The solar panel has been keeping the battery fully charged so far. I live in a sunny area, so I haven’t had to think about plugging it in since installing it. The battery isn’t removable, so if it ever gets low, I’d have to take the camera down to charge—but that hasn’t been an issue yet.It feels solid and looks sleek, not bulky like some outdoor cameras. Mounting was easy, and it’s held up well through a couple of rainy days. I’m using it with Alexa, and it works great for live view on my Echo Show.Overall, I think it’s a great camera for the price. No monthly fees, excellent video quality, and low maintenance with the solar charging. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a reliable security cam without all the extra costs.

No subscription, fully functional, and the solar charge works well -- I'm able to keep this going long after a manual charge with partial sunlight during the day. Setting it up was easy, which you'd expect from Eufy -- the child company of Anker, which makes excellent products. Motion detection, night vision, and all the features you'd expect work well -- very pleased with the system. I've been replacing my Nest cams with these.And at the price point, there's better value with this camera system than with others on the market. No subscription, ease of configuration, and simplicity of the app all make for an excellent user experience.

My family loves Eufy and the products that they put out. We love that they are so easy to install and that you don't have to have a subscription to enjoy all the functionality of the security system. The app is really easy to use and the notifications are easy to customize and keep up with. These particular cameras with the solar power have been amazing. We put them in spots that get a ton of sunlight so they stay charged and we don't have a problem with the battery ever running out. I think that for the price this set up is a great beginning option! It connects to our wifi easily and we have not had a problem with the camera view being interrupted by dropped connections. It stays charged all the time so the lifespan is great. Overall I have been really happy with this camera set, just like all of the other Eufy products we have in our home. If you are looking for a quality and versatile security camera company then go with this one, we have loved it.

I originally purchased a few Eufy cameras separately with the Homebase v3.This kit comes with the 2K solar powered cameras and the Homebase v2.While 2K is a noticeable improvement over 1080P, I would consider 2K at this time to be the minimum resolution to zoom in and see details. With the 2K cameras, if you put this in a location where someone needs to pass by it close up then you should be fine with 2K. If you are using this to capture a large area, then 2K may not be as optimal when trying to view details.If you don't have too much activity, then the solar panel should be able to keep the camera at 100%.The mounts are decent but are compact, so if you have anything that gets in the way, you won't be able to extend past it.Build quality looks good and seems to be built to last.Uses a USBC port.Adding this to an existing Eufy setup is easy through the app. Just stay near the homebase and hold sync till you hear a beep. Connecting to the camera by the app for the most part is smooth, sometimes you may need to close the app and reopen.Functionally, everything works well but some things can probably be better interface wise and maybe capability.Battery life so far has not been an issue due to the solar panel on top.In comparison to other brands, this is a fair price.Screen quality/brightness, is good enough to get an idea of what or who did something.

My parents were needing cameras for their backyard to see what wildlife they had coming into their yard that had great range and picture. The eufy cameras have been amazing, they were very easy to install on the house and installing the app on the phone was very easy and walked my parents through all the steps (with child supervision just in case they needed help). Having the solar panels on top has made the battery last so long and they haven't need to charge it unless there has been consecutive days of no sun (but that's not the case for them). In terms of the picture quality, it varied depending on where they placed it. If it was further away from the wifi, the video was a little slower and mildly grainy but the closer it was, it was way better. I mean were talking very minimal slow and grainy pictures so it wasn't anything that they had to complain about. After using it for their first week, they caught so many videos of wildlife crossing their backyard including racoons, skunks, and coyotes. They love seeing what time they come around and how they're moving. They are so happy with this product! The other thing they mentioned unlike other camera companies was they didn't feel they needed to buy the subscription and were still able to see videos and download them. Great alternative compared to others.

These cameras have a great picture quality, especially at night. They are very good quality and feel very solid. They connected very easily and was a breeze to setup. The only negative thing I can say about these cameras is that they do not pan or tilt. Even without the pan/tilt the viewing area is very large and can cover an entire small yard. The spot lights are also very bright. I have a large spot light in my yard but I can tell when the spot lights on the cameras come on because it is much brighter and fills in the shadows.

These eufy e40 solar powered cameras are great. I have multiple wired eufy's and a home-storage module already, but wanted these to move around in the yard....just to see what's going on. To my surprise, wondering why my bird seed was disappearing after dark, we have deer that help themselves by licking the seed out of the small bird feeder holes. Additionally, there's a bandit racoon that feasts on the suet. The green pvc pole you see has stopped the racoon, but I see I have some additional work to raise the height of the feeders.The cameras are a breeze to set up, and as you can see, the pictures are perfect. One thing I had to do was install a "mesh wifi" system to assist in my wifi to have the strength to go anywhere in my yard. I really think it's neat, fun, and interesting to see the different animals that "visit" during the night. Also, they are great for security. And we live in a subdivision with no woods around.
