eufyCam S4 4-Cam Kit

Bought the four S4 camera and HomeBase kit plus and installed a 2 terabyte SSD. Syncing the cameras to the HomeBase was a bit challenging but got it done. Installation of the cameras was fairly easy once placement was determined. Camera view orientation was quite easy providing a wide field of view. Setting up the cameras for sensitivity/distance was straightforward. Setting event video duration could be more straight forward and longer than 20 seconds max. (Didn’t want continuous video recording to save camera batteries) images are very clear during the day and at night using the IR lighting feature. Event playback works really well as does the 8x zoom feature. Downloading the events is also very easy with good quality images. Overall we are very satisfied with the S4 camera system and its capabilities.

Picked up a S4 kit with a homebase and it works AWESOME. What a better overall system compared to the ones by Google & Amazon. These have better frame rates, better build, and overall seem to be a system that doesn't strive on a subscription. Quick to setup, quick to sync, happy with the hardware & software (even with a few of the ads).

Two drawbacks after owning the s4 kit for a few weeks.

1) this is not a unique problem for EUFY. The distance to the wireless cameras causes hiccups. The solar panel charges a few percent a day if it gets good sun, otherwise, it may lose anywhere from 5-25% in a single day because of temperature, sensitivity settings and notifications / detection settings. Something could be improved upon. There is a chance to increase battery life by lowering sensitivity and putting the system in disarm mode.

2) Settings don't always "take". I'll remove the alarm to the cameras in the settings, go outside, and that sucker will blare at me. Same goes for putting the system in disarm or away mode... it doesn't always work.

HIGHLIGHTS:

1) The battery is removable! I can charge one inside if I'm hitting single digits outside, and simply change out the battery. WICKED GREAT FEATURE.

2) Duel cameras, one tracking, one static - this feature allows for a constant field of vision and if there are more than one person in a frame, the tracker will zoom out to capture all of them. Best part is that if you set up overlapping fields of fire, multiple cameras can catch moving objects.

3) The video quality - unreal. SO MUCH better than I thought.

4) Easy to use interface (even though there are ads to sell you more stuff). Settings are easy to get to, not always intuitive, but that's easily fixed with an update. Better than most.

5) Truly wireless.

6) Price. It's NOT that expensive. I suggest starting with a two camera system and a homebase + 1tb local storage, and then upgrading with more cameras once you get the hang of it.

This review is not paid for, and I did not get the system at a discount. Totally worth it.

High quality equipment. Easy to asembel and set up. I am very impressed with the quality of the video from these cameras. I installed a 2tb hard drive into the home base with no problem. Extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Another home run from my favorite security camera company. I have been using eufy cameras for over four years now and I cannot recommend them enough. There are absolutely zero recurring subscription fees in order to get the maximum usage out of the product. You can do 24 hour recording via a local microSD card and the cameras do human AI detection, again without any subscription required. The app is super intuitive to use with all sorts of customization options, including one of my favorites which is Geo fencing that can adaptively change the notification and security settings based on where your phone is located.

One of the things I like most about this specific model is they included solar panel, and the fact that there are multiple camera lenses so you get the ability to zoom in as well as a wide angle view all at the same time. It’s really not possible to overstate how amazing this technology is, this camera is worth every penny, and my only recommendation is to research the different models and make sure that you get the proper cameras for your particular situation. I also recommend the S3 homebase since it has expandable storage. The battery life on this is advertised as lasting all year because you can charge it up and then again there’s the built-in solar panel.

Picture quality is amazing with the 4K resolution and colors are super accurate. The app is protected with password security as well as the option to add MFA so the risk of anybody hacking your security cameras is pretty much nonexistent. Very functional and easy to use, installation took less than 10 minutes and then once you have the app set up, you just added it to your camera collection with a couple taps.

Purchased the 2 cam and home kit during the presale. Absolutely easy to set up and the app tracks everything. I do wish that the app would have less ads on it though.

At the time of this review I have been using the camera for about two days. I am VERY satisfied with the overall performance and flexibility of the camera positioning of the bullet and PTZ cameras. I am so satisfied a second one is on the way!The tracking is amazing! As example the camera will track me from my front door and follow me and zooming in on me for about three houses away! What a great way to get more information if somebody is trying to do harm! The video is clear and smooth, alerts are fast, and the motion detection is VERY sensitive. I am still experimenting with the motion detection (type, range, sensitivity, activity zones, cameras pointing) because I am getting more notifications then I want. i.e. picking up cars driving by my house. With the camera plugged in its staying at 100 % charge, but only after I stopped playing with it for hours using live view and moving the PTZ around with the app, So Cool!. :-)The install was quick with two screws needed to attach the mounting bracket to the house then slide the camera into the bracket and two more locking screws already attached to the bracket. I wanted 24/7 recoding so I also plugged in the camera with the cable provided.Some other notes:I am experienced Eufy camera user since 2022.The camera is above my garage with bullet camera facing mostly the driveway and the PTZ pointing towards my walkway to the front door. I have the camera plugged into the wall and recoding 24/7. It's connecting to the homebase 3. I have motion activated lights on my house.

Just got this eufyCam S4 - and man is this an upgrade to my previous FLC. The cam quality is night and day better. Love the PTZ tracking and the fixed cam. Over the past few days I have been draining the battery popping in and out of the live view to use the manual control of the turret cam! But with the included solar panel - even as temps start to drop here, the cam battery is able to get topped back up fairly quickly. The true test will come this winter when temps plummet. But for now, this thing has been exceptional!The cam is able to rotate to capture basically any angle against a wall and will track a person, pet, or car. The turret tracking is way smoother than my FLC2Pro. the old cam bounced around between preset positions/gear steps. This cam offers a much better/smoother panning. I also paired it with my HB3 which is nice because id does only come with a 32gb SD card... which can fill up fast with the 4k recordings.... I also did install a 256gb SD card just to test out if that worked - which it did... for those that dont have a HB3. Thankfully 256gb SD cards are cheap!At any rate - the tracking and motion detection on this thing has been solid so far! Def a need to own if you are looking to upgrade your FLC or to replace any fixed angle cams!
