Bad design with an easy fix

Mine came with a fine mesh over the washable side of the filter that made cleaning the lint and dirt already trapped inside impossible. The easy fix was using a sharp razor blade to cut a clean slit into the very edge of that mesh to provide a path for the dirt to escape when rinsing (some pressure with a sprayer helps). I've been using the same two filters for half a year now with this fix!

Poor design

The design of these filters is terrible. The fine mesh prefilter cannot be removed, and as a result fine dust collects between the mesh filter and the pleated filter, and is impossible to remove. I find that the filter life is a matter of weeks at best.

they work and do their job, but very poor design

They work, they do filter the dust! But the dust that is trapped inside is really hard to remove if not impossible! I don't get the point of the thing being washable with water. You make a mess with water (helping the dust with water) and then you have to wait until it's fully dry!

I wish we could open it for a good clean!
