        Good product, even better service

        If your door does not have a now standard 2 1/8 inch hole, read on

        I ordered this lock and immediately faced problem in installation because my door's hole (very old door) for deadbolt lock is not the standard 2 1/8 inch. This product was manufactured with this problem in mind and it includes an adaptor ring to fit in 2 1/8 hole. Remove the adaptor ring and it fits in the smaller hole.
        However, because the locking lever was designed to work with the standard hole which has better clearance to allow the wire to go underneath the lock cylinder. In a smaller hole, the wire will holdup the lever so it can not fully rotate to insert or extract the bolt, causing the calibration process to declare the lock is jammed. I have to use a wood chisel to dug a tunnel so the wire will rest in it without touching the lever. Next problem is the door frame and strike plate, again it's an old door so the hole was not deep enough and the plate does not have enough tolerance for the bolt. (it went in but with extra force and scratching the plate in the process) I have to drill then chisel out some wood for hole on the door frame to let the bolt to be inserted without resistance. Eufy again shines in the design because it includes a narrow frame strike plate for this purpose.

        My next problem comes with the mounting plate screws. One of them can not be inserted completely. I contacted Eufy support and they sent me a complete accessary kit with every screws. Unfortunately, that didn't work either. One of the mounting screw hole apparently was not milled correctly so I contacted Eufy team again. They asked me to print out a return label and send the defective unit back so their engineer/QC people can look at it and in the meantime, send me a complete new lock which arrived in 3 days. The new lock went in and it's operating perfectly since. Because I have to install and uninstall the lock several times, the mounting plate screws were stripped. It's the third time the Eufy design team showed their foresight: the mounting plate screws has a thicker head (other screws such as strike plate screws don't) that I can use a plier to remove the screws.

        For operations, the instruction says to scan the QR code on the lock to link with smart phones via Bluetooth, well that part didn't work with both of my iPad and iPhone. However, after installing Eufy security App from the Apple app store, I can use the Eufy app to link the lock with my smart devices. Perhaps some quirk with iOS was causing this but I am satisfied with how it works.

        In summary, it's a pretty good lock but I am more impressed with the support I got from the Eufy team.

        Key are a thing of the past

        It’s easy to install. After installation, no key will be required to be carried when leaving the house for a short or longer trip away from home. Many codes are possible for multiple users. More than 1 finger per user can be added. We have these for all our doors and we love it.

        Feels almost indestructible

        Well, I guess my mistake, but I thought it had the finger print and a camera. :/ Not sure why I read into that. Wish it had the camera, but works great and nice to not have to have keys to lock or get in.

        Love this lock. It was very easy to install. Customer Service is very friendly and accommodating and stands behind their product. Today I contacted customer service and spoke to Jordan. He was great and resolved my issue.

        Best keypad lock seen!

        This was a great find and great buy, but you need two people to install it. It was a little tricky, but the instructions were very easy, step by step. And very easy to use. I love that I can unlock the door from my phone when I'm away.
