eufy FamiLock E34

I recently installed the E34 on our front door. This is a huge upgrade in terms of convenience and security. I no longer need to search my bag or pockets for keys. The palm vein recognition works flawlessly. The overall aesthetic and design complements our front door. The build quality feels and looks good. The lithium battery is also a major plus for me. As an Architect, I will recommend this lock to everyone.

Amazing product. Couldn’t be happier. We looked into several companies, which offering a bit complicated installation, their own software and annual subscription. From price point and simplicity and monitoring options. Eufy is the best! Highly recommend

Had a problem with palm opening. Placed the dot as instructed on door to position palm. Works first time now and within 4 seconds it unlocked. Worth every cent.

Love it but I think i don't have it properly calibrated since it locks even with the door opened

Wanted to make the house keyless and this does the job was a 15 min instal and worked perfectly

Installed and added palm profiles for wife and kids. It works seamlessly once you figure out the correct distance to place your palm from the scanner (there’s a learning curve for sure) and it unlocks super fast. One of the gripes I have with the lock is the fact that you can’t add a palm profile without having a keypad code associated with it, and you can’t choose the same code for all family members so you’re a family of 4 you will have to have 4 different codes which is unnecessary. The second issue is that the palm scanner sometimes doesn’t light up when you get close to the lock, especially with kids, so you have to press the lock button and wait for it to come on.

This is my first door lock from Eufy after using their video doorbells for many years.

The installation was easy and straight forward. I did not have any issues installing the lock or even adding the lock to the Eufy app or Apple Home via matter.

The main gripe I have with my unit is related to the quality of the turnkey (deadbolt thumb mechanism). It feels really light and flimsy. Making it out of metal might have been a better choice. Also my turnkey seems it can over-rotate slightly making the whole mechanism not feel as premium.

The other issues I have are mainly related to the software. First you have the ability to turn on and off the notifications and even turn on and off unlock and lock individually. However, you cannot fine tune that further for example ignoring manual unlocks and locks so you end up getting a lot of phone notifications

The last thing is not really an issue but more of a feature request. This thing is almost perfect but would be more amazing if it had an geofencing auto unlock feature.

Overall though I am happy with my purchase. I switched off of the August lock which I have been using for almost a decade now and the palm vein technology is just crazy cool

****Update*****
After a few weeks of using the lock I have noticed one thing that could make it better. The lock recognizes the palm so fast but it then takes like another second to beep for confirmation then another second to unlock the door. If you cut out the verification tone and just started the unlock as soon as the lock recognizes the palm and it would give the feeling that the lock unlocks even faster

I have been unable to install this lock because they have to send me a deadbolt that works with it that I can take a pot and put the round piece on the face so I can use it in my door. They have not done that yet so two weeks I can install.

Easy to setup. Looks nice but not as fast to open the door as I thought. Plus you have to be straight aligned with the device and my door has an inset so it's hard to straighten my hand out unless I'm facing he door straight on. I am upgrading from a Yale digital pin lock. That locked worked well and the batteries lasted well over6 mos of daily use (rechargeables)

Also there was only a single schedule for timer. This is annoying since I leave for work everyday and would like a second schedule to lock the door once I leave. Bad app implementation.
